Food and Drink

We have had a hard time adjusting to the Australian grocery stores. The have a very sweet palette here... from sweet chili sauce to arnotts biscuits to hot cross buns to Solo. We have tried to find as many comforts as we can and make our usual meals... sometimes its just hard to find the ingredients. One must have meal was tacos. Now this isnt per say "hard" to do. But the selection of "mexican" food here is dismal at best. For one, they dont even have black beans in the regular grocery store. Anyways we pulled it together and BAM!! Tacos del Richie. We feasted on these suckers. No hot salsa (only mild Doritos brand), no avocado ($3), no spanish rice, but boy were they delicious. It just so happens that it was blazing hot outside too. With no air con (thats what they cal A/C here) we blasted the fan and drink away our sorrows with the cases of wine we bought. It came out to $4 a bottle plus we got 6 free wine glasses. Considering their equivalent of Coors Light sells for $2 a can, it was a steal.

So Australian are smart. they dont mess around counting drinks. I mean in america, 1 bud light or 1 Avery winter ale.... even though one has twice the alcohol of the other its "1" drink right??? well not here they measure it out to the T. Its nice to see on every drink.
